Tell us about the “eSkills for Volunteers” training experience.

The short staff mobility training of the project KA2 “eSkills for Volunteers” was a wonderful opportunity for me to fully exploit all the potentials of digital education and digital skills. Thanks to the mobility I had a chance to improve my ICT digital knowledge in a friendly atmosphere with educated young people interested to develop their professional abilities. Together we could explore what digital world can offer us and how digital skills could help a volunteer/NGO employee in their daily work.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the training?

The all four topics have been discussed sufficiently with a lot of useful information that´s why I can`t say which one was the most important for me. However, the explanation about the value of the Gantt chart and also the Project Roadmap were very interesting for me because we could clearly see that to manage a project it is not so easy as it looks. I have learned different instruments, tips and key parts of a Project Roadmap which I will use in my work. Through the discussion on social media I had opportunity to learn more about the right way of using social media and why is so important to be social. The workshops about Digital Marketing and Programming and web development also taught me some new strategy which I would like to implement in my daily work in order to make it more efficiently.

In your opinion, why digital skills are important for youth workers/volunteers?

Digital has become part of our lives in such a way that nobody realized it was happening. Nowadays, each sector needs and demands different digital skills to operate successfully on the global stage. In my opinion, equipping young people/volunteers with the skills that they need to succeed in the modern workplace has become crucial for their professional future. Digital transformation is pervasive and inescapable – and full of open-ended opportunities, that`s why youth workers/volunteers need to be well-equipped and prepared for a digital future.
